CleOwave founder Janka Dubakova joins Future Reference as co-founder to scale community-driven resale
Future Reference, the resale platform that digitizes wardrobes to power resale, today announced its merger with CleOwave, a trusted marketplace for brand-specific resale communities.
CleOwave founder Janka Dubakova joins Future Reference as co-founder alongside Claire Gray. Together, they will combine Future Reference's digital wardrobe technology with CleOwave's established network of brand-loyal buyers and sellers.
CleOwave built its reputation through a community, that grew to thousands of verified members who buy, sell, and trade with trust built on shared taste and mutual accountability.
“In the online space, resale has largely been defined by utility and volume. We want to move it beyond transactions — combining community and wardrobe intelligence in a way that doesn’t exist elsewhere in online commerce,” said Janka Dubakova. “Future Reference is shaping a new model grounded in shared taste, trust, and community curation. Upcoming initiatives include bringing community chat and discussion onto the platform, building search and alert tools that surface pieces members are hunting for, expanding verification tools that let buyers and sellers transact with confidence and offering exclusive membership features.
